ISLAMABAD: Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Friday vowed to play an active role in the implementation of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and Vision- 2025 for the economic prosperity of the country.
This was stated by Mian Adrees, President FPCCI in a meeting with Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Reform during his visit at the Federation House, Karachi.
The meeting was attended by Waseem Vohra, Shahnawaz Ishtiaq and Ikram Rajput Vice Presidents of PFCCI, Senator Haseeb Khan, Mirza Ikhtiar Baig and various prominent members of business community, a statement of the federation issued here said.
The other offices of FPCCI at Lahore and Islamabad were also linked through video conferencing.
Mian Adrees said that private sector has already proved its importance in the activities of economic development and in this regard FPCCI also revealed its economic revival plan for the betterment of the country.
He said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a historic development megaproject and our future, which will prove a turning point in the welfare and prosperity of our nation.
This corridor is a fusion of multiple developments in the global, regional, bilateral and domestic contexts.
The ultimate objective is peace, prosperity and well being of the people of the two countries, the region and the world.
He added that Pakistan is a business friendly destination and offers excellent opportunities to foreign investors.
Despite various socio-economic challenges, Pakistan's economy has been progressing in a right direction and improving day after day.
On this occasion Prof. Ahsan Iqbal shared his views about the china economic corridor and vision 2025 and said that all provincial chambers of commerce including Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore would be taken into confidence as the present government always acknowledge the role of chambers of commerce in our country.
He also appreciated the role of FPCCI in the economic growth of our country.
He also announced that to organise the Joint Summit conference with FPCCI on China economic corridor.
He appreciated the law enforcement agencies about the successful operation in Karachi and said that after China economic corridor world is recognizing Pakistan as an economic power and looking for investment opportunities in Pakistan.
"However, for its implementation we need political stability and consistency."
In the end the business community appreciated the role of the Minister for Planning, Development, and Reforms in the economic prosperity of country.
