HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) has welcomed the government's move to sign the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project and start the construction work of the pipeline.
A meeting chaired by Senior Vice President Turab Ali Khwaja at the HCCI secretariat fully supported the government for going ahead with the project.
Speaking on the occasion, Khwaja said Pakistan had been facing worst energy crisis for many years and which was grinding the country's industrial production to a halt besides hurting other sectors of the economy and also perturbing the common citizen.
"Our loss during all those years which make up almost a decade has been potentially irreversible," he commented.
Khwaja noted that the energy crisis created a situation under which the investors began to pull their money out of the country to invest abroad.
