Rs1771.452 billion currency notes in circulation
LAHORE: The total number of currency notes in circulation through out the country decreased to Rs1771.452 billion, according to latest report of the State Bank of Pakistan for the week ending on February 24. The figure for the corresponding week was Rs1794.098 billion.
The fresh report says that the total number of notes issued were Rs1771,590,163,000 (Rupees one trillion, seven hundred and seventy one billion, five hundred and ninety million and one hundred and sixty three thousand.
The total number of notes held in the banking department stood at Rs137,267,000 (Rupees one billion, thirty seven million, two hundred and sixty seven thousand).
The total assets and liabilities held by the SBP were of the same figure of Rs1,771,590,163,000.
The total liquid foreign reserves as of February 24 were mentioned as $16,424.5 million. Of this, $12,062.3 million were held by the SBP and $4,362.2 million by other banks.
