imageISLAMABAD: Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has collected Rs.143 billion during the first three quarters of the current fiscal year against the set saving target of Rs.180 billion set for the whole fiscal year.

"The assets of CDNS have reached to Rs.2600 billion, which is 26 percent of the total national saving of the country," Director General Saeed Ahmad Rana told APP .

He said that the government has taken about 27 percent of its non-inflationary loans from the CDNS to meet its development and budget expenditures.

Saeed Rana said that CDNS has collated the Rs.07 billion tax till March in current fiscal years to deposit in national treasury to generate the national revenue.

Replying to a question regarding the 10percent discount rate from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Director General CDNs said that "we are following the Pakistan Investment Board (PIB) to manage the rates accordingly.

He said the CDNS has also introduced different National Savings Schemes (NSS) to generate national revenues and provide benefits to the common people.

He added that "we started the Welfare Saving Certificate Scheme (WSCS) to facilitate the widows, orphans and pensioners to open account easily for their benefits.

Director General, CDNS said that regular income certificate has also been introduced to get the price bonds of Rs.100 to Rs. 40,000 for low income masses.

Replying to another question, he said that CDNS have future plan to modernize the offices and train the employees and build their capacity.

He said that his organization was negotiating with different banks for integrated plan to establish Automated Teller Machine (ATM) with the cooperation on these banks.

He added that "we have decided to computerized the 80 branches out of 140 in all country and equip these branched with modern tools of Information technology.

Replying to another question,he said that CDNS has also established customer complaint center to facilitate the customers and provide them services in short time.
