ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Finance has strongly contradicted a news item carried by a section of the media that the ministry had deducted amount at source from the budgetary share of the province of Sindh.
In a statement issued here, a spokesman of the ministry termed the news as baseless and said, the federal government is committed to a decision made in the Council of Common Interest that no deduction will be made by the federal government at source on account of supply of electricity of the provinces.
Therefore, the question of any deduction does not arise, the spokesman added.
