Gov't releases Rs426.512mn for Commerce Division

imageISLAMABAD: The Planning Commission of Pakistan has so far released Rs426.512 million for various projects of Commerce Division so far against the total allocations of Rs533.780 million for the fiscal year 2012-13.

The allocations for the fiscal year 2012-13 include Rs80 million as foreign exchange component, according to the latest data of Planning Commission.

According to break up figures, Rs300 million have been released for enhancement in exhibition halls and additional technology works (Expo Center Lahore Phase-II) while 57.512 million for purchase of equipment, furnishing, curriculum development and training of Pakistan School of Fashion Design, Lahore.

Likewise, the Planning Commission also released Rs49 million for restructuring of Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development (PITAD), Islamabad while Rs20 million have been provided for Adoption of Social Accountability (SA 8000) islamabad.

For all the development projects, the commission released Rs190.9 billion under its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) against the total allocations of Rs233 billion for the fiscal year 2012-13.

According to the latest data of the Planning commission, an amount of Rs98 billion has been released for 346 infrastructure development projects and Rs85.4 billion for 716 social sector projects.

Similarly, Rs2.4 billion has been released for 77 other projects and Rs5 billion for the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA).

It is pertinent to mention here that the total size of the PSDP for the year 2012-13 is Rs360 billion, including Rs100 billion foreign aid, which is managed by Economic Affairs Division and Rs27 billion special programmes, release of which are made by Cabinet Division or Finance Division.
