imageISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Monday reiterated its unflinching support to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and assured that they will not allow any move to derail democracy and the system in the country.

Resuming debate on the current political situation, they urged the Prime Minister to stay firm and do not resign.

Participating in the debate, Ms Aasiya Nasir of Jamiat- Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) condemned the leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Imran Khan and Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri for their undemocratic attitudes.

"Both the leaders have made innocent peoples hostage." She urged both the leaders to leave premises of Parliament House forthwith.

The Prime Minister, she said will never resign in any case. She urged the Speaker National Assembly to stop salaries of the legislators of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) for their continuous absence from the session, ignoring their Constitutional obligations and the people of the country.

She said that she will move a privilege motion against desecration of the premises of Parliament House by both PAT, PTI and their leaders.

Mussarat Ahmedzeb of PTI said she has taken the oath of protecting the Constitution of the country and she will continue attending the session.

Sheikh Rohail Asghar of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz strongly condemned Tahir-ul-Qadri, Imran Khan and said both are corrupt and unreliable.

He said Imran Khan has admitted in his own book that he used to play gambling. Imran was morally corrupt. He threatened to expose both Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri.

Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari of the PML-N said the acts of both PTI and PAT heads were tantamount to violate the Constitution. He said that after every election, the losing candidate always leveled allegation of rigging. He said that all genuine demands of both PTI and PAT regarding reforms have already been accepted. "Despite accepting their demands, Imran and Dr. Qadri emphasis on the Prime Minister resignation is totally unconstitutional and unjustified," he said. He said that Javed Hashmi exposed PTI Chief and his monopoly in the party. He praised Pakistan Army for its positive role and the army reiteration for supporting the democracy in the country.

He said that today all diplomatic missions have announced to close their embassies for five days which would earn bad name to the country. He said that he would move a privilege motion.
