ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Syed Naveed Qamar on Thursday informed that National Assembly that Frontier Works Organization (FWO) was collecting toll tax on behalf of National Highway Authority (NHA) from Motorways only and had collected Rs. 11,406.124 million since 2008-09 to date.
Replying to a question during Question Hour, he said that FWO had received it share Rs. 2,125.16 million out of the total collection during the said period.
He said that FWO was utilizing its share of toll on pay and allowance of staff, rations, repair of vehicles, purchase of stores for the manpower employed on operational and maintenance of Motorways.
To another question, the minister said that currently two domestic oil companies Shell Pakistan and Pakistan State Oil and 19 foreign oil companies were supplying fuel to PIA planes.
To a question, Naveed Qamar told the House that Civil Aviation Ordinance, 1982 stipulates the responsibilities of Civil Aviation Authority which include safety, efficiency and properly coordinated civil air transport in Pakistan. Provision of civil airports, aerodromes, air traffic services to aircraft, navigational services to aircraft, communication services etc were under the mandate of CAA, he said.
