RAWALPINDI: City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) has launched a special cleanliness campaign in different areas aimed at fighting the dengue threat looming in vulnerable areas of the city.
Under the initiative and directives of the Punjab Chief Minister, the district government placed posters and banners at prominent places of the city to create awareness among general public about the deadly virus of dengue.
Precautionary measures have also being suggested to avoid spread of the lethal dengue fever which claimed several lives in last years.
The CDGR has started spray in streets of all the union councils to make the city dengue free.
Addressing a meeting, Executive District Officer (EDO) Municipal Services Imtiaz Ahmed Malik said that cleanliness was the most essential element to get rid of the dengue virus.
He warned that the stern action would be taken against the staff deployed in the campaign, if they showed any negligence in performing their duties.
