HYDERABAD: The By-election on the NA-218 seat which fell vacant after the recent demise of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian's Chairman Makhdoom Ameen Fahim will be held on January 18, 2016.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had notified the by-polls and a copy of the notice had been delivered to the Regional Election Commission of Hyderabad, said a press release issued by Sindh Information Department.
According to the schedule, the nomination papers would be issued and accepted from December 10 to 11 while the process of scrutiny would be held on December 16 and 17.
On December 21 the Returning Officer would receive appeals against rejection of the nomination in the scrutiny process and on December 23 the Tribunal would give its decision on the appeals.
Subsequently, the last date for withdrawal is slated on December 28 and the final list of candidates would be displayed on December 29.
