LAHORE: Nazaria-e-Pakistan Trust (NPT) Chairman Muhammad Rafiq Tarar has urged women to adopt in true letter and spirit the guidelines of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah (Madar-e-Millat) for the progress and prosperity of the country.
Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the 122nd birth anniversary of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah organized by NPT in collaboration with Tehreek-e-Pakistan Workers Trust here at Aiwan-e-Karkunan on Friday,he said that Fatima Jinnah lived her life with great honour and dignity and extended remarkable support and cooperation to her brother.
Cooperation of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was an asset for Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he added.
He said that women should make Ms Fatima Jinnah their role model so that they could play their due role efficiently in the development of the country.
Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Rana Muhammad Arshad said that the Fatima Jinnah had played great role in the creation of Pakistan, adding, "We as a nation must follow the vision and ideology on the basis of which Pakistan was created".
Cheif Justice (R) Mian Mahboob said that Fatima Jinnah set examples for people to face crises with firmness and paved the way for democracy.
Other speakers also paid rich tribute to Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and highlighted her services and struggle for the creation of Pakistan. They urged youth, women and students in particular to follow life of Fatima Jinnah and improve image of the country.
A cake was also cut to celebrate the 122nd birth anniversary of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah.
Later, certificates and prizes were distributed among the students who had participated in the debate competitions held in connection with first death anniversary of veteran journalist late Majeed Nizami.
