imageISLAMABAD: A citizen has approached Islamabad High Court (IHC) to change the rusty pipes and faulty filters over the water filtration plants in order to save the public at large from diseases in the Federal Capital.

Iftikhar Hussain through Yasir Mahmood Chaudhry Advocate filed the petition seeking direction for CDA, Chairman and its DG of Water Management Cell to ensure the availability of clean and pure drinking water at all the filtration plants of the capital.

He pleaded for the direction to the Chairman Environment Protection Agency Islamabad to collect samples from different water filtration plants and access the quality of drinking water being supplied to the residents.

Hussain argued that millions of rupees were spent over the installation of water plants but authorities intentionally neglected these plants presently, the majority of the plants were in dilapidated conditions.

Taps are missing, tiles have broken and cleaning situation over these is worsening.

The petitioner alleged that presently the private persons are looking the affaires of water filtration plants those are authorized by the CDA however the respondents never ever bothered to take the samples of the water to check the quality of water or get it to test from any laboratory.
