QUETTA: Due to poverty and lack of awareness and education, youth literacy rate (age 15/24) is estimated to be only 53 percent in Pakistan.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday, this was said in a seminar organized by non-governmental organization HAYAT in collaboration with SHEED Society in connection with campaign intends to design a study based curriculum to create political Will at federal and provincial level amid policy makers, opinion leaders and education authorities for the ministerial commitment to introduce a comprehensive SRHR based curriculum at district level educational system. Addressing the seminar, Project Manager for Lifeline Campaign Mr. Anwar-ul- Haq Tabassaum, Dr. Abdul Mateen and Allah Din Kakar said that lack of proper guidance could lead the children to choose wrong company and become victium for bad habits.
They said that taking care of the emotional, psychological and health aspects of growing up children are easier. They were of the opinion that knowledge of reproductive health and human rights would create confidence among our youth.
