imageRAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), while acknowledging the meritorious services of outgoing Ambassadors, including Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Argentine Ambassador, Rodolfo J. Martin-Saravia who served for twelve years in Pakistan and High Commissioner of Bangladesh Suhrab Hossain who spent six years.

RCCI hosted a farewell party in their honor here Wednesday,the newly appointed envoys of different countries also participated.

President RCCI Mian Humayun Parvez in his welcome address said Pakistan has always endeavored to promote friendly relations with all countries on the basis of mutual respect, interest, and cooperation.

Pakistan is heading towards stability and tranquility as the security situation in the country has improved, he added. President RCCI expressed the hope that outgoing ambassadors will describe the friendly and positive image of Pakistan and encourage their investors to invest in Pakistan. Our economy has been ranked as one of the fast moving economies by international financial institutions, he added.

Mian Humayun Parvez while appreciating the chamber's role said RCCI is playing a leading role in elevation of business.

The President expressed gratitude for the services of outgoing ambassadors and said that they will portray positive image of Pakistan in their respective countries.

Speaking on the occasion, the outgoing Ambassador of Argentine, termed his twelve years stay at Pakistan as golden period of his life.

He said its hard for him to say goodbye to the people of Pakistan who had shown great hospitality and generosity to him.

He termed Chamber's as excellent tool to develop trade relations between countries and saying that relations have been developed between Pakistan and Argentine are ideal.

The exchange of trade delegations between the two countries is commendable, he added.

Ambassador of Bangladesh, Suhrab Hossain in his address said Pakistan and Bangladesh enjoy brotherly relations and with the passage of time these relations will further strengthened. Recalling his memories, the Bangladeshi envoy said that he still remembers the RCCI visit to Bangladesh and holding "Made in Pakistan" exhibition in his country during which he accompanied the trade delegation of Rawalpindi Chamber.

Swedish Ambassador, Tomas Rosander said that there is tremendous scope of investment in telecom/ IT sector in Pakistan and his country would like to take benefit from this opportunity.

The Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost said that being a neighboring country, Pakistan and Iran have several Mega projects of mutual importance. The newly appointed Thai Ambassador Suchart Liengsaelgethong said that he has come to Pakistan on a mission to develop closer relations, especially in the field of commerce and trade.

He said that there are several tourism resorts, destinations in Pakistan and his country would like to explore them. President RCCI Mian Humayun Parvez presented souvenirs to the outgoing ambassadors and newly appointed envoys.

Those who attended the reception/farewell ceremony included, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates Essa Abdullah Albasha Al Noaimi, Ambassador of Afghanistan Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal, Ambassador of Iran Mehdi Honardoost, Ambassador of Thailand Suchart liengsaengthong, Swedish Ambassador Tomas Rosander, Ambassador of Poland Piotr Opalinski, Ambassador of Korea Song jong-hwan and Ambassador of Ukraine Volodymyr Lakomov.
