Flood played havoc in Punjab: CM ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Wednesday said that flood played havoc in different parts of Punjab, damaging crops and thousands of houses besides affecting livestock.Talking to a private television channel, he said he has not seen such devastating flood in river Chenab throughout his political career.All of a sudden, he said, the river roared and washed away crops standing on millions of acres and rendered thousands shelterless.Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister said, visited various flood affected areas and announced relief packages for the flood victims.Under the package, Shahbaz Sharif said, Rs 25,000 would be given to each flood affected family.He said the Federal and Punjab governments, Army, Navy, police and Rescue-1122 were playing a pivotal role in rescue and evacuation marooned and bring them to safer places.He said rescue works have been completed in various parts of flood hit areas and now relief and rehabilitation activities ...
