ISLAMABAD: Amidst criticism of the police by some parliamentarians, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Faisal karim Kundi appreciated sacrifices of security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to fight out terrorism.
"The way, our security forces rendered sacrifices is appreciable. They have valiantly fought terrorism and we should acknowledge it," he remarked in response to a point raised by a PPP MNA from KPK, Noor Alam Khan.
The members had claimed that attack on Peshawar Airport was negligence of police as they are least bothered to masses sufferings. Police station remained closed mostly and if becomes difficult to even get registered an FIR.
But on the other hand the Elite Force remains busy on security of the high police officials, the member said and quoted that a day earlier KPK Elite Force contingent was deputed to guard the family of a high police official from the province.
He demanded to withdraw Elite Force from security of the top police officials and said, they should focus on eliminating crimes like murder, kidnapping and plunder. "The police has failed to be a deterrence against crimes. They do not raid the suspected places to nab the criminals."
Speaking on the same issue, Minister for Education and Training Sheikh Waqas Akram reiterated his three years old stance about presence of Uzbek warriors in his constituency in central Punjab and said, he had raised the matter in the House at that time.
"I had informed that in my district some top leaders of a banned outfit had employed Uzbek extremists for security. But, the matter had remained unheeded," he added.
The minister said, it is thought provoking that how Uzbeks travel to Pakistan all the way through Afghanistan to attack our installations when normally an Uzbek claims US$ 40000 to US$ 50000 to commit one terrorist activity. "From where this money is paid and who is sponsoring them is matter of concern. We need to be aware of these anti-state forces."
He also questioned performance of the provincial governments and said, before that these warriors attach the top leaders of provincial government, they should evolve strategies to curb them.
He also commended the sacrifices of police and security forces against terrorism especially in KPK and said police personnel as well as officers to the rank of DIG laid down their lives fighting against terrorists.
