On Prime Minister Imran Khan's call, people across Pakistan came out on streets on Friday to observe Kashmir Hour and express solidarity with the Kashmiris.

Kashmir Hour was held from 12:00 to 12:30 hour today, where sirens were being sounded across the country and national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir were also played. Ministers, officials, public servants, students of schools, colleges and universities and people all over the country came out during the hour.

Special ceremonies are underway at President House and Prime Minister Office to express solidarity with the Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK). Special Assistant to the PM Imran Khan on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan and Naeem ul Haque are also in attendance.

Addressing the ceremony, the PM said that our Kashmiris are going through a very tough time. He further said today all of Pakistan, wherever there are Pakistanis, whether they are school students or shopkeepers 'today all of us are standing with our Kashmiris'.

The premier continued that whole world is witnessing what is happening in IoK. PM further said that it was important to understand the type of government in India which was oppressing Kashmiris. He said the ideology of the RSS was motivated by hatred for Muslims. "RSS's manifesto is to remove Muslims or treat them as second class citizens in India," the PM added.

Criticising the international community, the premier said the world’s reaction would have been much stronger if Kashmiris were not Muslims. "Unfortunately, the world tends to remain silent when those being oppressed are Muslims." He warned that India was planning a ‘false flag’ attack to escalate the situation and that Pakistan would respond with greater force if that happened.

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan also lead a rally at Kashmir Hour.

Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid also took out a rally.
