HAMBURG: Jordan's state grains buyer purchased 60,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat to be sourced from optional origins in a tender for up to 120,000 tonnes which closed on Tuesday, traders said.

It was bought at $229.50 a tonne c&f for shipment in the first half of October.

The seller was said to be trading house Ameropa.

One other trading company took part in the tender, Nibulon, which offered $239.50 a tonne c&f.

In recent months, Jordan has struggled to buy wheat and barley in tenders after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by international trading houses.

Jordan's last reported wheat purchase was 60,000 tonnes in a tender on May 7. Since then a series of wheat tenders ended without a purchase.
