LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Cooperative Mehr Muhammad Aslam Bharwan has said that agriculture sector will be boosted in consultation with the farmers so that national resources could be enhanced and prosperity of the masses be ensured.
He was talking to different representatives of farmers who met him in his office here on Wednesday. Various matters including provision of loans through cooperative bank on easy terms and promotion of agriculture sector came under discussion.
The Minister said that research was being conducted on new seeds and crops and it is sanguine that agriculture is being promoted through loans provided to small farmers by cooperative bank with an aim to overcome poverty.
He said the cooperative department was playing an important role by providing tractors and agricultural equipments to small farmers on soft terms and conditions. He said that different steps were being taken for tax system reforms and consolidation of taxes. Inspector less regime is being introduced and after its enforcement, no one will be able to disturb the business community in the name of inspection, he added.
