CM greets assembly members on approval of new LG bill

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar congratulated the assembly members on the approval of New Local Government bill by the Punjab Assembly.

The chief minister said today Punjab assembly had set a new history by eliminating the obsolete local bodies system.

He said the local bodies institutions in the past had failed to resolve public problems. People would be fully empowered in the new local bodies system as the system was reflective of public sentiments, he added.

The CM said for the first time under the new system, local bodies institutions would be given political, administrative and financial autonomy in real sense.
