ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday adjourned the hearing till May 9, on the appeal of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif challenging his imprisonment sentence in Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.

The bench also accepted his request seeking exemption from hearing due to health issues.

A divisional bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiani conducted the hearing on Nawaz Sharif's petition seeking cancellation of sentence awarded by an accountability court.

During the hearing, counsel for Nawaz Sharif Khawaja Haris disclosed that paper book had been received but it was incomplete and mandatory documents were missing.

Khawaja Haris contended that part-I of the record provided to Nawaz Sharif was different from the record provided to the court as well as details of few accounts were also unavailable in the paper book.

Justice Amir Farooq said it was easy to call the relevant branch for details either they had copied the record or not.

The court directed to complete the record in paper book till next hearing which was fixed for May 9.
