KARACHI: Karachi police on Monday claimed to have apprehended five terrorists belonging to a banned outfit during a targeted raid in Gulshan-e-Maymar area of the metropolis.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir on a tip-off, about the presence of the terrorists in Taiser Town, a police team conducted a targeted raid in the area and arrested five terrorists affiliated with banned outfit Daesh.
The police official stated that arrested terrorists were identified as Abdullah alias Hamza, Wasim, Naveed, Waqar and Muddasir. He said the police had recovered weapons, explosive material, and laptops from their possession. Citing their crimes, SSP said the suspects were involved in terror activities and misguiding people through social media platforms.
Police have registered FIRs against the arrested terrorists and started further probe.
