The 8th Convocation of Wah Medical College was held on Thursday, 12th April' 2018 in the Auditorium of Wah Medical College, Wah Cantt. Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, HI(M) Chairman POF Board was the Chief Guest on this occasion while Professor Dr Wasim Ud Din, Principal Wah Medical College presided over the Convocation on behalf of Vice Chancellor, University of Health Sciences. Addressing on this occasion, Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, HI(M) Chairman POF Board complimented both the graduates and the faculty for their years of hard work that have led to the realization of their dreams.
Chairman POF Board further expressed admiration for the favourable academic environment of Wah Medical College that has contributed tremendously to producing graduates of quality and excellence. Thereafter he emphasized the demanding roles and responsibilities of young graduates as future "Health Care Providers" and the need of their commitment to raise the quality of healthcare delivered at the community and national level to meet the national and international standards.
The Convocation marked the hailing of degrees for as many as 104 Medical Graduates of the Academic Session 2012-2017 & 09 Medical Graduates of the Academic Session 2011-2016 in due recognition of their diligence and dedication. Dr Nusrat Shaheen was declared as the Best Graduate for the Session 2012-2017 with generous cheering by the audience for his meritorious achievement of 16 Gold Medals, 02 Silver and 02 Bronze Medals besides numerous other awards for academic excellence.
Addressing the auspicious gathering, Principal Wah medical College, Professor Dr Wasim Uddin admired the commitment and efforts of the faculty in training the undergraduate students. He extended congratulations to the graduates and the parents whose sheer persistence and toil earned them top positions in University results. The Principal further underscored the vision of Wah Medical College as an institution that actively endeavours to promote a culture of research in addition to employing latest strategies for taking Medical Education to the next level. He further added that has initiated postgraduate fellowship training in two new departments of Clinical Radiology & Emergency Medicine. Besides, eleven other departments are already imparting postgraduate fellowship training.-PR
