Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday, Chief of the Committee resolving the problems of Afghan Refugees, Mohammad Saeed Hashmi said that the government fresh deadline for repatriation of the unregistered Afghan nationals was created great unrest among them.
He said the Afghan Refugees are being faced with severely difficulties. He urged the Pakistani government to not expel them from the country due to current unstable situation in Afghanistan. He also demanded of the Government of Afghanistan through diplomatic channel to play their due role to get further extension in stay of the Afghans refugees in Pakistan.
Flanked by the Afghan Refugees elders and committee members, Qari Mohammad Shah, Arsala Khan, Haji Ahmad, Mohammad Azam, Waliyat Khan, Dilbar Jan, Matiullah, and others, Hashmi extended special gratitude to the government for prolonged hospitality in the country, but, their return should be carried out on dignified manner.
The Afghan Refugees leaders have emphasized the Afghan government to take concrete steps for their resettlement in Afghanistan instead of taking cosmetic steps in this regard. They viewed that there was no institution to resolve the issues of Afghan Refugees.
The elders stressed the need for taking tangible steps to mitigate the sufferings of the Afghan Refugees in the country. They urged the Pakistani government to allow the Afghan nationals traveling between the provinces and continue the provision of education, health facilities as well as employment opportunities.
