Punjab Minister for Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique paid a surprise visit to Benazir Bhutto Hospital on Friday. The minister inspected various departments of the hospital. He was surprised to see that the patients' counters in OPD have been closed well before the closing time.
He took a serious note of the situation and directed the hospital administration and the Secretary Specialised Healthcare to take disciplinary action against the officers showing negligence towards their duties.
The minister also showed indignation over the heaps of garbage in the motorcycle parking area and directed to issue notice to the contractor. Salman Rafique also expressed displeasure to the hospital administration on the overall performance. He also inspected pharmacy of the hospital and expressed dissatisfaction over the working of the pharmacy.
He issued directions to conduct inquiry into the affairs of the pharmacy especially medicines stock, supply of medicines to the patients and its consumption.
