Govt to purchase 432,000-ton wheat from farmers in Gujranwala division

SIALKOT: The Punjab government has issued official wheat procurement target for Gujranwala division, under which the Food Department would purchase 432,000 tons of wheat directly from farmers at the procurement centres in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujranwala districts this year.

Also, PASSCO will purchase wheat from growers in Hafizabad district here.

According to officials, the Food Department would purchase 82,000-ton wheat in Sialkot district, 41,000-ton in Narowal district, 28,000-ton in Gujrat district, 60,000-ton in Mandi Bahauddin district and 221,000-ton wheat in Gujranwala district this year.
