BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur Railway Station earns Rs 20 million every month from reservation of seats in trains and the income could be doubled if reservation quota is increased.
This was stated by Station Master, Bahawalpur Railway Station, Huzoor Bakhsh while talking to journalists here on Friday.
He said that tens of thousands of commuters from Bahawalnagar, Minchanabad, Chishtian, Hasilpur, Fortabbas, Yazman, Khairpur Tamewali, Bahawalpur and others areas board trains from Bahawalpur Railway Station, for which they have to get reservation of seats in trains from booking office set up at Bahawalpur Railway Station.
He said that presently, Bahawalpur Railway Station earned Rs 20 million every month from seats’ reservation.
He opined that income from seats’ reservation could be doubled if reservation quota of Bahawalpur Railway Station was increased.
“Millions of people of Bahawalpur region face difficulty due to lesser reservation quota of trains for Bahawalpur,” he said, adding that the increase of reservation quota could ease their problems.
