ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday adjourned hearing of the case challenging the eligibility of Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif as member of the parliament till Tuesday.

A three-member larger bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akther Kiyani resumed hearing of the petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s leader Usman Dar.

During the course of proceeding, the counsel for Khwaja Asif requested the bench to grant more time so that they could resubmit reply in the case.

Justice Aamer Farooq observed that the case had been pending for the last six months and the court could not delay the proceedings anymore.

To a court's query, Khawaja Asif's counsel replied that the visa copy of his client had been attached with nomination papers. However, the petitioner's counsel Sikandar Bashir contended that the case was related to the minister’s undeclared bank accounts. Khawaja Asif had also not mentioned his foreign job in the nomination papers, he added.

The case, was adjourned till April 10.
