ABBOTTABAD: At least one person died and several other injured when lightning struck at Lassan Nawab village of Mansehra in the wee hours of Monday.
Muhammad Nadeem son of Riaz aged 50, died when heavy rain coupled with thunderstorm and lightning struck his house and suddenly the house caught fire.
Despite heavy rain and thunderstorm the neighbors recovered the dead body of the Muhammad Nadeem. His funeral prayer was offered in the native village where a large number of people participated.
Continuous heavy downpour coupled with the thunderstorm also struck life in Abbottabad city and surrounding area.
Flash flood triggered by the torrential rain entered in the houses at several places of Abbottabad city. Main Mansehra road and Murree Road was blocked at several places due to flash flood and miles long ques of vehicles could be seen on both sides of the roads.
People were also stuck in their houses as almost Mansehra road, Murree road and streets of Abbottabad were blocked by the flash flood for hours.
