Development schemes of Qasimabad reviewed

The Federal Minister for Political Affairs. Moula Bux Chandio has constituted 4-member committee to conduct study about the feasible options for making the Hosh Muhammad Sheedi Flyover more beneficial for the citizens of Qasimabad and traffic flow as well. He also directed the officers concerned to complete the final feasibility report of the underpass proposed at Nasim Nagar Chowk so that work of the scheme could be started without further delay.
These directives were issued while presiding over a meeting about the development schemes of Qasimabad at Camp office of Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad here on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Provincial Secretary Works and Services Dr Atta Muhammad Panhwar, Divisional Comm-issioner Hyderabad Ahmed Bux Narejo, DC Hyderabad Agha Shahnawaz Babar, DG HDA, Additional Commissioner-II, Additional Deputy Commiss-ioner-I, Consultants and other officers.
Addressing the meeting Chandio said that Hosh Muhammad Sheedi Flyover had been constructed with many design faults subsequently it is not only in use of the citizen of Qasimabad but on the contrary created many difficulties to the commuters/residents and businessmen. During the meeting, Chandio called the proposals from the consultants, officers that as to how it can be made beneficial/functional through only addition or deletion in the scheme. He constituted 4-member technical committee to conduct study and submit their report within a week time. He also expressed his displeasure over delay in implementation of underpass scheme proposed at Nasim Nagar Chowk Qasimabad for which all arrangements, paper work has been completed earlier. He said that the only technical reason for dewatering of underpass is delaying the execution on scheme.
He said that though in modern era this was not a challenging task for the experts and can be resolved successfully. He asked the authority concerned/experts and officers to collect their proposals, technical solutions and submit the same in the meeting to be held on next Monday at Karachi so that a proper proposal could be implemented and work could be started without further delay. He said that President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairperson PPP Women Wing Pakistan MNA Faryal Talpur are taking keen interest in the development of Qasimabad and have strictly directed to complete all development schemes with quality of work in stipulated time.
