Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir was exceptional for his team in the recently concluded T20I series, however, his lack of wickets in the 50-over format has became a concern for former all rounder Yasir Arafat.
“For someone who amazed us all with his bowling performance in the Champions Trophy final, it is sad and disappointing that Mohammad Amir could only take two wickets in four games in the ODI series,” stated the former all rounder, quoted PakPassion
The Rawalpindi born, who made his international debut back in 2010 against Sri Lanka, was of the view, that Amir was unable to get early breakthroughs unlike his Kiwis counterparts Tim Southee and Trent Boult, who regularly picked the up the Pakistani batting line in the entire ODI series.
Pakistan lost the ODI series, 5-0, suffering a rare whitewash in their ODI cricket.
“This is not the Amir we were expecting to see as it was expected that he would be able to make breakthroughs early in the innings, similar to how Tim Southee and Trent Boult would get rid of Pakistan’s top-order many times during the series,” he added.
Amir will next be seen in action for the Karachi Kings in the upcoming third edition of the Pakistan Super League.
