Pakistan cricket Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq admitted that the fitness of Pakistani players is not up to the international level, the former captain was addressing a press conference on Friday.
We have a bit of an issue with fitness. Our team is not as fit as rest of international team. But we are trying to improve, Inzamam said. He said that in order to keep the fast bowlers fit, the board has introduce rotation policy, reported the local media.
Inzamam further made it clear that Azhar Ali would continue to lead as the ODI captain of Pakistan. Whereas, the chief selector would soon sit with Pakistan Test skipper Misbah ul Haq, to discuss the 42 years old future.
Misbah ul Haq has rendered great services for Pakistan and he is our most successful Test captain I havent been able to talk to Misbah ul Haq ever since he returned to Pakistan from Australia. But I will soon sit with him, Inzamam said.
Inzamam however, asked to grant the team more team to address its issue as they has been continuously playing cricket.
When I took charge (as Chief Selector) the team left for England, then we had series in UAE versus the West Indies and then the team travelled to New Zealand and from there they went to Australia, he said.
