KDA seals ‘Sindbad Amusement Park’

On Friday, Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has sealed ‘Sindbad Amusement Park’, located at Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.

According to the recent reports, the plot was taken on a 10 year lease the duration of which had expired. According to the KDA sources the plot was seized on the basis of ongoing crackdown against unlawful land seizing mafia. Instead of four acres, eight acres of land were occupied, the sources said adding the park was renamed from ‘Wonder Land’ to ‘Sindbad’ in 1990.

‘Sindbad’ is one the main family amusement park, the park attracts a lot of people with a larger crowd on weekends compared to weekdays. Still it is not clear whether the contract will be renewed or whether the park will have to shift to a new location.
