ISLAMABAD: Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik has said that procuring of new software for matching finger prints will increase our capacity.
Talking to VOA, he said that currently we can process 100 fingerprints through our mechanism daily. The additions of this software will increase the rate of our work regarding fingerprints.
Responding to a query, Chairman NADRA, Tariq Malik said in case of complaints regarding rigging, NADRA will match the fingerprints of those persons who have cast their votes in that specific polling station.
If a fingerprint has occurred repeatedly or there is no match in the fingerprints of our record and the fingerprints of the voters, then it will clear us that rigging has been done.
To another question he added that we have learnt a lot form these elections, so in future this software will help us a lot in controlling rigging in the elections.
Tariq Malik maintained that only 10 rupees per voter will be charged as service charges. I don't think that it will be a burden on candidates as compare to the charges of degree verification and the charges of Supreme Court in case of filing a petition.
In case of rigging complaint from any candidate, he would have to pay the amount per voter in that specific polling station. So in a sense this software will decrease the ratio of baseless complaints, he said.
It is a good decision of Supreme Court and it will finish the trend of complaints just for complaints sake, he added.
