imageLAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi and British High Commissioner Adam Thomson here Saturday discussed the matters of mutual interest, ongoing projects with the cooperation of Department for International Development (DFIF) for the uplift of social sector in the province and promotion of bilateral relations.

Head of DFID in Punjab, Tom Owen and acting Political Consular Jasper Thornton were also present.

On this occasion, Najam Sethi said that deep friendly and historic relations existed between Pakistan and Britain, adding that Britain was an important trade partner of Pakistan. He said that the cooperation of UK for the improvement of education, health, and other sectors was commendable.

The Chief Minister said the joint ventures for promotion of education, technical education, health and other social sectors with the collaboration of DFID in Punjab were continuing successfully.

While, Adam Thomson said that bilateral cooperation between UK and Pakistan was being promoted, asserting that Britain gave great importance to the relations with Pakistan and wanted stability of democracy in Pakistan. He assured that Britain would continue its cooperation for the development of Pakistan.
