KARACHI: After acquiring the famous Bachchan surname, it is reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is making her comeback in Bollywood after her long maternity break. Aishwarya Rai was reportedly approached by choreographer turned director Farah Khan for the lead female role opposite Shahrukh Khan in her upcoming film Happy New Year.
Setting the box office on fire with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Devdas, was the last time Aishwarya and Shahrukh Khan featured together. Her husband Abishek Bachchan has a prominent role in the film. According to Indian media outlets Aishwarya allegedly turned down the opportunity as ideally she would like to be cast opposite husband Abishek.
It is reported that Aishwarya believes the film may be rejected by the audience if the couple are not paired opposite each other. having previously starred opposite Bollywood bombshells Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, Katrina Kaif, Rani Mukherjee and Anushka Sharma how Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan will react to this alleged rejection is yet to be seen.
