LAHORE: The Punjab government released Rs 148.900 billion funds, out of revised ADP Rs 209.900 billion, for development projects during the last nine months of fiscal year 2012-13.
Funds of Rs 98.200 billion have so for been utilized during the period of 1st July, 2012 to 31st March, 2013 on the completion of development projects with 66 percentage.
Chairman P&D Board Punjab Sohail Ahmad disclosed this while chairing a high level two-day meetings of 3rd Quarter Review to review the implementation status of ADP 2012-13, said a P&D spokesman.
In a briefing, chairman P&D Sohail Ahmad, said that the Punjab government would take especial steps for removing bottlenecks and ensuring their better performance in the infrastructure development projects like roads sector, irrigation and public buildings sectors.
It was decided that the P&D will convene a special review meeting in mid of May 2013 to improve the performance and resolve the certain issues in different infrastructure projects.
As per sector wise funds utilization details, an overall utilization of the development sectors was more than bench mark as 70% which included: Rs.36 million out of 250 million was released and Rs. 36 million was utilized with the percentage of 100% for fisheries sector, Rs 40 million out of Rs. 1200 million were released for transport sector while Rs. 38 million was utilized with the percentage of 94%, for Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Sector worth Rs.341 million out of 915 million was released and Rs. 306 million was utilized with the percentage of 90%, worth Rs. 24951 million out of Rs. 25398 million was released while Rs. 21177 million was utilized with the percentage of 85% for BRTS, for Agriculture Sector Rs. 2914 million out of Rs. 5040 million released and Rs. 2385 million utilized with the percentage of 82%, for Water Supply & Sanitation Sector Rs. 5141 million out of Rs. 9960 million was released while Rs. 3861 million was utilized with the percentage of 75%, for Live Stock & Dairy Development Rs. 115 million out of Rs. 1658 million was released and Rs. 84 million was utilized with the percentage of 73%.
The performance of other development sectors of bench mark below 70% included: for Tourism Sector Rs.108 million out of Rs. 294 million was released and Rs. 3 million was spent with the percentage of 3%, for School Education Sector worth Rs. 5738 million out of Rs. 15013 was released while Rs. 1500 million utilized with the percentage of 26%, for Public Buildings Sector Rs. 4559 million out of Rs. 5092 million was released and Rs. 1462 million was utilized with the percentage of 32%, for Labour Sector Rs. 76 million out of Rs. 100 million was released and Rs. 26 million was spent with the percentage of 34%, for Sports Sector Rs. 530 million out of Rs. 1800 million was released while Rs. 199 million utilized with the percentage of 37%, for Health Sector worth Rs. 13642 million out of Rs. 16505 million was released while Rs. 5127 million was utilized with the percentage of 38%, for Mines and Mineral Sector Rs. 136 million out of Rs. 300 million was released and Rs. 53 million utilized with the percentage of 39%, for Roads Sector Rs. 27403 million out of Rs. 34163 million was released while Rs. 16059 million was utilized with the percentage of 59%, Rs. 13 million out of Rs. 265 million was released while none utilization was made for the TEVTA Sector and for HR&MA Sector Rs. 78 million out of Rs. 220 million was released while zero utilization was made by the concern Department.
Secretary P&D Arif Anwar Baloch, Members of P&D Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned, senior representatives of concerned Departments and other Officials attended the meeting.
