KARACHI: Much to the relief of Pakistan cricket fans and the national team, Saeed Ajmal’s follow-up examination reveals his abdomen problem can be cured simply by medication.
Reports last week about the spinner’s abdomen pains had everyone worried that he might need a hernia operation. But recent consultations assured that the cricketer does not need to undergo surgery and that all he needs is medication.
Indian media sources report that Ajmal is happy as he needed to be completely fit before starting the ODI in Scotland in May and the Champions Trophy in England later this year.
The good news was manifested in Ajmal’s celebratory appearance on the Faisalabad Wolves’ side in the Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 final versus Shoaib Malik’s Sialkot Stallions on Sunday. Misbah-ul-Haq’s Wolves won the match by a 36-run lead.
