Wheat procurement from small farmers high on priority

LAHORE: Punjab agriculture department has estimated impressive wheat produce in rain-fed areas this year and expressed its resolve to procure wheat from farmers of these areas on priority basis.

Food Director Captain (R) Muhammad Usman will be visiting different districts in connection with the wheat procurement campaign to check the arrangements.

A spokesman of the department said on Monday, that the director would visit Attock and Chakwal first and meet representatives of farmers in order to achieve the target of wheat procurement.
