Philippines sees Q1 GDP growth at 6-7pc from year ago

philippine-flag-400MANILA: The Philippine economy is likely to grow between 6 and 7 percent in the first quarter from a year ago, driven by consumer and government spending, Economic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said on Monday.

The domestic economy grew 6.6 percent in 2012, surpassing the government's 5-6 percent target.
