LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday that future of Pakistan was linked with upcoming general election and such people should be brought in caretaker set-up who make the election transparent.
Talking to PML-N leaders Samiullah Khan and Uzma Bukhari here, he said, a unanimous strategy was essential for holding general election in a transparent manner and such persons should be nominated as caretaker prime minister and chief ministers, who were eligible for these offices. He added that able and honest personalities should be selected through a wide range consultation process.
The chief minister said the PML-N's Punjab government had served the masses with sincerity during the last five years. On coming to power again, he assured that PML-N would rid the country of problems like poverty, price-hike, unemployment and shortage of energy.
During the meeting, they also discussed the matters relating to welfare programmes and development projects of Punjab.
