WB Country Director meets CM
LAHORE: Country Director of World Bank Rachid Benmessaoud called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Model Town here on Thursday.
Matters of mutual interest and ongoing development projects in Punjab with the cooperation of World Bank were discussed during the meeting.
Shahbaz Sharif said on this occasion that the Punjab government had taken an historic step today by handing over three mega projects to Transparency International Pakistan for analysis.
He said it was for the first time in the 65 years history of the country that any government of the day had presented itself for accountability.
He said the Punjab government had always ensured quality, predominance of merit and transparency in all its development projects.
He said development projects with the collaboration of Punjab government and the World Bank were successfully continuing for which the efforts of World Bank were highly laudable.
Country Director of World Bank Rachid Benmessaoud said that performance of Punjab government was highly impressive with regard to implementation of ongoing projects in collaboration with World Bank. He said cooperation of World Bank would continue in future as well.
