HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares rose 0.71 percent Wednesday as traders welcomed Barack Obama's re-election in a tight US presidential election.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index gained 155.42 points to 22,099.85 on turnover of HK$64.04 billion ($8.26 billion).
Chinese shares ended flat. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.27 points to 2,105.73 on turnover of 47.2 billion yuan ($7.6 billion).
