LTBA said that the taxpayers are facing numerous hardships due to the computerized programme. It also urged the FBR to dispose of pending audit cases at the earliest.
These views were expressed by the LTBA office-bearers at a seminar arranged by the Bar with regard to sales tax here on Tuesday.
LTBA President Qari Habib-ur-Rehman Zuberi speaking on the occasion claimed that the Pakistan Revenue Automation (Pvt) Limited has no authority to suspend the companies. He said step of suspending over 3,100 companies is illegal and it will cause loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer.
Qari Habib-ur-Rehman also claimed that the computerised risk evaluation programme needs reforms and improvement.
He also drew the attention of the department towards pending audit cases and claimed that no audit case had been completed since 2003.
