Petition seeking permanent ban on Facebook filedLAHORE (July 27, 2010): A petition has been filed before the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking permanent ban on Facebook, a social networking website, in Pakistan pointing out introduction of another anti-Islam competition by the website. The website had already faced an interim ban in country for holding a blasphemous caricature competition.

Subscriber base of WiMax, EvDO shows 73 percent growthISLAMABAD (July 14, 2010): The subscriber base of WiMax and EvDO services of WLL sector has shown 73 percent growth in last 6 months while the subscriber base has jumped from 190,947 in October 2009 to 331,416 in April 2010 according to the data compiled by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). The PTA is fully supporting the telecom industry and making efforts in all possible ways to help operators.

First Pakistani social website introducedLAHORE (July 09, 2010): Information technology engineers have successfully launched a social network website like Facebook and proved their talent. Yousaf Fayyaz, one of the engineers who developed the website named BuddyFlick.com told APP here on Thursday that they had introduced the website with a vision and aim to prove the world that Pakistani engineers were talented enough to run and maintain their own social network.
