America stands with Pakistan: Obama
WASHINGTON (July 29, 2010): US President Barack Obama offered his "deepest condolence" on Wednesday to families and friends of the 152 people killed in a plane crash near Islamabad, which included two Americans. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those touched by this horrible accident," Obama said in a statement. "The American people stand with the people of Pakistan in this moment of tragedy."



US envoy condoles
ISLAMABAD (July 29, 2010): US Ambassador Anne W. Patterson has expressed her sincere condolences on behalf of the United States to the people of Pakistan and to the families and friends of those who died in Wednesday's plane crash. In a statement issued here by the US embassy, the ambassador shared her feelings of condolence with the members of the families who lost their relatives in this tragic incident.



Pakistan must not 'look two ways': British Prime Minister
BANGALORE (July 29, 2010): British Prime Minister David Cameron said Wednesday that Pakistan must not "look two ways" in Afghanistan by publicly working to stabilise the country while secretly funding insurgents. "It's unacceptable for anything to happen within Pakistan that's about supporting terrorism elsewhere," Cameron told BBC radio during a trip to India.



Terrorism is a global issue: foreign office
ISLAMABAD (July 29, 2010): Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit has said that terrorism is a global as well as regional and local issue and Pakistan and the United Kingdom have a robust and comprehensive partnership, including on counter-terrorism. He stated this while commenting on the reported remarks of the British Prime Minister David Cameron in Banglore about Pakistan here on Wednesday.



Dr Eynulla meets Zardari
ISLAMABAD (July 29, 2010): The outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan Dr Eynulla Madatli paid farewell call on President Asif Ali Zardari here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday. The President appreciated the services rendered by the outgoing ambassador for bringing the two countries closer and strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.



'Wikileaks propaganda a malicious attempt to defame Pakistan'
ISLAMABAD (July 29, 2010): Secretary Foreign Affairs Salman Bashir on Wednesday condemned the Wikileaks propaganda in strongest possible terms, terming it a malicious attempt to defame Pakistan before the international community.



President meets delegation of Task Force on Education
ISLAMABAD (July 29, 2010): President Asif Ali Zardari called for focused attention on developing primary education facilities, saying "it was not merely a matter of education but also of national survival, development and security in the long run". He said during his meeting with the delegation of Task Force on Education here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD (July 29, 2010): Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Wednesday that inquiry report of the Air Blue plane crash would be made public as the government has nothing to get from hiding the facts. Addressing a press conference at PID media centre, he said Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has constituted a high-level inquiry team, which has started its work.



Bilour grieved over loss of lives
ISLAMABAD (July 29, 2010): Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives due to the dreadful incident of plane crash here in Islamabad. He said that plane crash is a tragic and sorrowful incident in the history of the country and termed it sad day for Pakistan.
