ISLAMABAD (November 12 2009): Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Wednesday said the law enforcement agencies have arrested two masterminds of the suicide blasts in International Islamic University and World Food Programme (WFP) offices in Islamabad and more arrests have been made on their information.
While responding to points raised by Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao in the National Assembly, the minister said the government has a focal point where information transfer from all intelligence agencies and action is proposed as and when needed.
He said the government was following 3-D policy announced by the Prime Minister. He said Taliban are following the agenda to destabilise Pakistan but we would never let them succeed in their anti-state motives.
"We will continue striking these cruel Taliban. The whole nation was united and we will fight them out," he added. Earlier, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao in his speech presented recommendations in the House and said the government should not close the doors on negotiations.
While giving a proposal, he said we should formulate our own policy learning from the experiences of other countries in fighting terrorism. He said a total of 80 incidents of blasts have taken place during 2009. He urged the government to expedite relief efforts for IDPs.
