ISLAMABAD (November 08 2009): Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar said on Saturday that the government had received Rs 400 million for the construction of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation housing scheme for Zone-V. He was addressing to the participants at a balloting ceremony for OPF housing scheme for Zone-V phase-II here.
The federal minister handed over the allotment letters to the applicants and congratulated them on the occasion. It was the balloting of phase-II for the 1000 yards, 600 yards, and 355 yards plots, while for phase-III the ministry has received the applications for which balloting would be held later, he added.
Dr Farooq Sattar said that over 30 percent construction work has been completed and it would be completed in 2011, but the minister directed the management to complete the construction work before stipulated date and hand over the possession letters to the allottees after the July 1, 2010.
OPF's Mirpur housing scheme (AJK, and Raiwind housing scheme would be constructed soon for the Overseas Pakistanis. He said that the government is establishing OPF schools in Lahore, Karachi, and Peshawar for the children of the Overseas Pakistanis to provide them quality education.
