KARACHI (May 24 2007): The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday adjourned proceedings till May 29 in a petition challenging disqualification of the plaintiffs/bidders from Pakistan State Oil (PSO) privatisation process.
A single bench comprising Mrs Justice Qaiser Iqbal adjourned the matter after completion of arguments of the counsel representing Privatisation Commission of Pakistan, Waseem Sajjad. Attock Group of Companies (Attock Oil Consortium) has moved SHC in a Rs 24 billion law suit challenging the alleged exclusion of plaintiffs from bidding in privatisation process of leading oil marketing firm in the country, PSO.
The court has been asked to quash PC's impugned order for its disqualification from participation in PSO's privatisation process. The plaintiffs argued that it was entitled to participate in the bidding process in question and to be treated on exactly the same basis and manners as all other bidders.
