ISLAMABAD (January 06 2010): Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly would discuss 15 mega alleged corruption scams, including irregularities committed in Stock Exchange and Defence Housing Authority projects, during its session starting on Wednesday. The committee is scheduled to meet under the chairmanship of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, here at Parliament House on Wednesday morning.
It would take up the cases of alleged irregularities reported in various state institutions, sources said. Besides, the chairman Auditor General of Pakistan Secretariat would also table audit reports of Nawaz League government tenures before the committee within this or next sessions, they added. Land allotment scandals would top PAC agenda, as it would question allotment of more than one plot to federal secretaries, heads of the departments and various top officials in the federal capital or otherwise in other areas.
So far the committee had been discussing audit reports of 1991-92, 1993-94, 1995-96, 1998-99, and 2000- 02 as part of its agenda. Noting that these tenures were mostly ruled by Pakistan Peoples Party and other Parties, the chairman has asked that record of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government tenures should also be brought for discussion, sources said.
